Fun and laughter
Did you know my natural inclination isn't fun?
I love order and control and the very nature of fun means chaos to me. (That's probably a therapy session at some point.)
But last year I focused on laughter. Laughing with my family, creating moments of fun together.
And even though there are more appointments and commitments than ever - finding fun together has become important to me.
There homeschool co-op had a family fun Truck or Treat and on a whim I decided we would participate.
The costume? I've had for 9 years, it was a clearance purchase at Target with my girlfriends. (They are going to lose it when they see this photo.)
And Cookie Monster, the girls and I made together. It was Eliana's idea to use metal wreaths as cookie Frisbees and Abigail's idea to cut the tissue paper diagonally to get it a more textured look.
Over the last week I would randomly try on the costume and laughter would erupt from everyone.
Fun and Laughter are important - really important. Find a way where you can authentically show up and have fun with your family. Even if it's just once in awhile.
Laughter is healing for the soul. Laughter draws you together. And laughter is just plain fun!!
What can you do this week to connect with your family through laughter and fun?
