DEAD LEAVES AND ME
This weekend my husband and I did some spring clean up. We raked and bagged the leaves left from the fall. There were dead, they were gross and they needed to go if our grass had a chance this year. As I was bending over for the 100th time (what a hamstring workout), I had this thought...this is what's God needs to do in me. He needs to clear out the dead things to make room for new life. If I don't allow him to remove the things that are dead it will hinder the growth that's to come.
I share this thought, because its true for you too. God needs to get rid of the dead leaves. Rake them out, rough up the soil to get ready for new growth. Allow it to happen, trust Him with the process, even if its hard, even if it hurts.
When was the last time you allowed God to rake and clean up in your life? Is there a bad habit that has developed? Is there a good habit that you have stopped? Ask Him. He always wants to connect with you. To show you His love and concern. And love can also be in the form discipline and correction.
Good thing I went out and helped my husband! I would have missed this special message from my God who loves me like crazy and is willing to speak to my heart during yard work!
